I've been living in Northern New Mexico for many years, having migrated here from the east coast in the 70s. You can contact me by email if you'd like to discuss custom beadwork, ask for advice on beading techniques, or share insights on the arts and crafts world. I love living in New Mexico, even with the recent horrible drought and forest fires, I feel home here, and don't think I could ever leave for long. The picture above, was one I took at the Bosque del Apache wildlife refuge, near Socorro, where my son went to college. These are sandhill cranes, who come to winter on the Bosque in large numbers. They're beautiful, graceful birds.

This is a picture showing the grand entry to the cave at Carlsbad Caverns in southern NM. The 'birds' flying around are actually bats, and one of the great sights to see at the caverns is the evening flight of the bats, out of the cave and into the desert night to catch mosquitoes and other flying insects. This is an extensive cave and well worth a visit.
